What is hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a completely natural and extremely powerful therapeutic modality. Through deep relaxation, neural networks housed within the Subconscious mind are accessible and adaptable. Hypnotherapy is fast, safe, comfortable, and highly effective.

how it works

If you take a look at your mind, it has two major parts: The Conscious Mind and the Subconscious Mind. 

 

Your Conscious mind is your analytical, computational, Problem solving mind. 

 

It’s counterpart is your Subconscious. This is where all of your habits, dreams, memories, fears, desires, and autonomic bodily functions are all held. It is always listening in the background and directing our internal and external experiences. 

 

By using deep relaxation techniques (aka Hypnosis) to lower your brainwave state and therefore gain access to your Subconscious mind, you can make discoveries and changes as you see fit, within your own psychology. Any internal or external symptoms you may be having are all products of what is stored in your Subconscious. 

 

Hypnotherapy, in short, provides clients with the tools and guidance to make empowered choices about their life experience.

what can it help?

It may sound like snake oil, but anything you desire! It's simple, once you have access to your Subconscious you have the ability to change any neurological connections that dictate undesired behavior/response and replace them with your desired outcome.  It's all about tapping into that resource state. 

what does it feel like?

Hypnotherapy sessions feel like a massage for your brain! Most clients report their sessions to be the "most relaxed" they've ever felt before. You don't have to be previously good at meditation or general relaxation- Hypnotherapists are trained to make this part easy and effortless for you. Since the client is in control and aware the entire session, they often walk away feeling a renewed sense of personal power and achievement. They feel more in control and informed about themselves. Relief is often reported because the process is "easier" than they expected, so deeply meaningful, and the changes they have desired previously are in fact quickly/easily achieved.

an analogy

Deep relaxation (Hypnosis) is like a special key that can open an immoveable door to the main "computer room" (your Subconscious) where all of the important information is stored/processed. No one has access to that computer room, but you. Sheer determination and persistence will not easily or comfortably open that very important door.

 

Once you gain access to the "computer room" you are in control of how/what information is stored, filed, and processed. As the client, you hold the key, at all times. The Hypnotherapist is your guide to gaining access to your key, unlocking your door, and navigating your computer room for your desired results.

BrainWave chart

Hypnotherapy utilizes different brainwave states (by way of deep relaxation) to facilitate different types of sessions for clients. The Conscious mind is accessible in only Beta and high Alpha brainwave states. The Subconscious is accessible when the brainwaves slow into low Alpha and all levels of Theta. 

 

Traditional talk therapy is generally done in Beta brainwave state or high Alpha. 

 

Hypnotherapy is done in low Alpha, and all different levels of Theta brainwave state.

ADDITIONAL STUDIES 

FASTER healing of ankle bone

40%

Harvard Medical School conducted research on the use of Hypnosis to enhance physical healing. The test Hypnosis group had individual Hypnotherapy sessions and listened to Hypno audio tapes designed to increase bone healing. X-ray and orthopedic evaluations showed 40% faster anatomical and functional fracture healing than compared to the control group.
